My new favorite headshot :)
This is Anna Stirr, she is an ethnomusicologist in the Asian Studies department at UH Manoa, specializing in musical traditions of the Himalayas. She performs folk music from the Nepali hills, including the improvised poetic duets called Dohori. The clothes and jewelry she's wearing are worn by all female Dohori performers, and come from the styles worn by women of various indigenous ethnic groups in the Himalayan foothills.
